Ballistic Window Assembly Details
Overview (General Description)
Habershams ballistic window frame assemblies are designed for secure glazed openings that require rated threat protection and reinforced hollow metal frame performance. Built to HMMA 862/866 commercial security hollow metal standards, these assemblies support project-specific glazing, frame profiles, jamb depths, anchoring conditions, and performance requirements for high security facilities.
Product Details:
- Ballistic-Rated Window Frames: Window frame assemblies can be specified for bullet penetration resistance under UL 752 Levels 1–3, 4, 5, 7, and 8 or SD-STD-01.01, Rev. G, depending on contract requirements.
- Commercial Security Hollow Metal Construction: Frames are manufactured from cold rolled or hot rolled steel, with interior frames using a minimum 0.093" / 2.3 mm thickness and exterior frames using a minimum 0.053" / 1.3 mm thickness.
- Glazing + Stop Details: Glazing thickness, frame profile, jamb depth, glazing stop screws, vinyl thermal break, sealants, glazing tape, and optional grout fill are coordinated around the required performance criteria.
- Anchoring + Installation Support: Assemblies can include embed plate anchors, frame angles, glazing stop screws, security screws, and removable stops to support the approved wall condition and glazing package.
- Additional Performance Options: Forced entry testing, impact testing for windows and vision systems, blast resistance, and fire ratings up to 1.5 hours where required by project criteria.
- Built for Secure Glazed Openings: Designed to help protect vulnerable window openings while preserving visibility in commercial, institutional, government, industrial, and high security environments.
