Overview (General Description)
Habersham’s hurricane rated door and frame assemblies are built for exterior openings that require both commercial security and severe weather protection. Designed for windstorm-prone environments, these reinforced hollow metal systems help protect facilities from hurricane-force wind, cyclic pressure, and windborne debris while supporting secure facility performance.
Product Details:
  • Windstorm-Rated Opening Protection: Available windstorm rated configurations include Florida Approval FL 14347-R2 at +/- 70 psf for single-point lock/latch hardware and FL 15843-R2 at +/- 104 psf for glazed doors with two-point exit hardware.
  • Impact-Resistant Assembly Design: Door and frame systems are tested for windborne debris and cyclic pressure in accordance with ASTM E1886 / E1996 and TAS 201, TAS 202, and TAS 203.
  • Reinforced Hollow Metal Construction: Built as HMMA 862/866 commercial security hollow metal assemblies, with reinforced doors, frames, sidelights, glazing options, and approved windstorm hardware.
  • Configuration Flexibility: Available configurations include single swing, pair swing, sidelight, and multi light window pair assemblies with security glazing options.
  • Code + Approval Support: Systems are supported by Florida windstorm approvals, Miami Dade NOA references, and FEMA Hurricane ICC 500 listing criteria where applicable.
  • Multi-Threat Performance Options: Assemblies can also support bullet resistance, forced entry resistance, impact resistance, blast resistance, and fire ratings up to 3 hours depending on project requirements.
